How to Use This Timer for SAFMEDS Practice

Before You Start

  1. Prepare your flashcard deck (20-50 cards recommended)
  2. Shuffle the cards thoroughly
  3. Set up two areas: one for corrects, one for errors
  4. Select your timing duration (1 minute is standard)

During the Timing

  1. Press Start and begin immediately
  2. Look at the front of each card
  3. Say your answer out loud
  4. Flip to check—place in correct or error pile
  5. Stop when the timer ends

Pro Tip: After the timing, count your correct and error cards. Record these numbers to track your progress over time. Aim for a minimum of 40 corrects per minute with 0-2 errors for fluency.
