For ABA students, RBTs, and BCBA candidates

Study ABA terms like you'll use them fluently

TAFMEDS turns evidence-based Precision Teaching into short, focused study reps: timed SAFMEDS practice, readable celeration charts, mock exams, and feedback that helps busy students know what to practice next.

Student-centered toolkit

Less cramming, more measurable mastery

Practice starts quickly, recall stays honest, progress is visible, and both independent students and programs get tools that support real fluency growth.

Study in real breaks

Run a focused 60-second timing between classes, supervision, or clinic shifts without rebuilding your study setup.

Stop memorizing order

Randomized cards keep practice honest, so fluency comes from recall instead of the sequence of a deck.

See fluency, not vanity metrics

Standard Celeration Charts make progress visible with a format familiar to Precision Teaching programs.

Get useful answer feedback

AI-assisted scoring recognizes close answers and synonyms, then helps students refine definitions faster.

Keep momentum anywhere

Responsive practice works across phone, tablet, and laptop with touch targets sized for real use.

Rehearse the exam pace

Mock exams and domain practice help candidates build timing, stamina, and confidence before test day.

Stay aligned with the outline

ABA and RBT terminology libraries support current exam preparation and classroom review workflows.

Built for cohorts too

Instructors can assign deck sets, monitor progress, and spot where students need help before exams.

How It Works

A study loop students can repeat with confidence

Choose the right material, run a timing, inspect progress, and repeat with a clear next step for tomorrow's study session.

1

Pick the deck that matches your week

Start with ABA terminology, RBT review, BCBA prep, or instructor-assigned sets tied to current coursework.

2

Answer out loud or type fast

Use short timings to practice retrieval under mild pressure, the same skill students need in exams and supervision.

3

Read the chart, adjust the plan

Frequency, accuracy, and celeration show what is improving and which terms need another focused pass.

4

Walk into assessments prepared

Mock exams and mastery signals help students move from recognizing terms to using them fluently.

Methodology

Built on Precision Teaching principles

TAFMEDS implements the SAFMEDS (Say All Fast a Minute Every Day Shuffled) method, a fluency-based learning approach developed within Precision Teaching.

Timed Practice Sessions

SAFMEDS uses 60-second timed practice sessions. This format allows learners to track their response frequency (correct responses per minute) as a measure of fluency.

Standard Celeration Chart

Progress is plotted on the Standard Celeration Chart, a semi-logarithmic chart developed by Ogden Lindsley that displays learning trends over time.

Lindsley, O.R. (1992)

Fluency-Based Learning

Precision Teaching aims for fluency - the combination of accuracy plus speed. Fluent performance is associated with better retention and application of learned material.

Binder, C. (1996)

Shuffled Card Presentation

Cards are shuffled each session to prevent sequence memorization and ensure learners can respond to terms in any order, supporting true conceptual understanding.

About the Research

Precision Teaching was developed by Ogden Lindsley in the 1960s. The SAFMEDS method was later developed by Graf and Lindsley. While research supports the effectiveness of fluency-based instruction, individual results vary based on factors including practice frequency, prior knowledge, and learning goals.

Research Foundation

Built on decades of research

TAFMEDS is grounded in Precision Teaching methodology developed over 60 years of behavioral research.
